About Beyond Theatre Collective

Supporting Community, Educational, & Non-Profit Theatres

Beyond Theatre Collective exists to support the people who make theatre happen—especially in community and educational spaces. From classrooms and rehearsal halls to backstage and board rooms, this platform is built to uplift the artists, educators, volunteers, and leaders who bring live performance to life.

Beyond Theatre Collective (BTC) focuses on sharing practical knowledge, lived experience, and thoughtful guidance to help theatres operate more smoothly, sustainably, and inclusively. BTC is a sub-brand of Byers and Beyond Marketing.

Our Mission

Beyond Theatre Collective exists to support the theatres that bring stories to life in their communities. We provide practical resources, educational tools, and industry insight for community, educational, and nonprofit theatre makers working both onstage and behind the scenes.

Why This Resource Exists

Theatre is more than performance; theatre is community. That belief has shaped Beyond Theatre Collective from the beginning.

Over the years, my life has included several moves to new cities and states where I didn’t know anyone. Each time, the theatre became the way I found connection. Being involved in theatre during college showed me how quickly a rehearsal room can turn into a community—and how powerful that sense of belonging can be.

As I moved, I made a point of working in the theatre wherever I landed. Sometimes it was easy to find a theatre to work with; other times it required significant digging to find local opportunities. I noticed a clear pattern: theatres with clear, accessible online information—an updated website, responsive social media communication, etc.—were far easier to connect with.

That experience highlighted an important fact: access to information matters. When resources are easy to find and clearly shared, theatres become more approachable, more inclusive, and more rewarding.
